The Penn Hills Adult Training Facility in Pittsburgh, PA welcomed a well-known special guest on Thursday, November 3. This particular Santa Claus has gained some notoriety in the local media as being the “Santa with the Christmas Magic”. On a whim, Tabitha Steinmeyer, the Team Supervisor for the ATF, reached out to him to request a visit to the program. Santa agreed to make a stop at the Center as one of the select visits he was doing while here from out of town. From the moment he walked through the door, it was clear that he had a special presence about him. He took time to visit each program area, each individual and staff member at the ATF, and he also spent time with the students from Merakey’s Autism School in Mt. Pleasant when they dropped by to see the jolly man for themselves.
As you can see from the smiles and treasured moments caught on camera, this visit was a welcomed surprise after the previous two years of dealing with the challenges of the pandemic. Santa shared with everyone that he made this trip a priority as he respects the work that our employees do every day and the ongoing challenges faced by the individuals we support.
