For Halloween, Merakey Woodhaven in Philadelphia declared, “Boys and girls of every age, wouldn’t you like to see something strange. Come with us and you will see our town of Halloween” at 159 Countyline Road. The individuals dressed up in fun Halloween costumes and even decorated their vans for the holiday celebration. Costumes ranged from scary to funny and everything in between, including the Occupational Therapy Department members who dressed up as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Gifts were given out to all who participated with a special prize to the homes at Country Club, South 5th, Girard, and Morning Glory for having the scariest, most spirited, most original, and funniest decorated vans respectively. As part of the event, the program site had interactive decorations aimed at advancing both leisure and socialization skills. The event was a huge success, and they ended the day with a Halloween dance party.
