Miracle League Baseball is in full swing! This season begins the 3rd year that ECSI has volunteered at the Moon Miracle League Field with Merakey AVS. They bring the excitement and have made great friendships with all players, especially those from Pittsburgh Campus. The Pittsburgh Campus team is the largest team in the Miracle league and shows up each season ready to play. Daryl, Bobbie Lee, Shawn, Donald, and Sharon have formed great bonds on the field with ECSI. Cheering for each other, lots of laughter, and of course running the bases, makes for an exciting game.

Patricia Hillman Miller Campus photos: This season PHMC is enjoying a quieter and more relaxed baseball game. The weather has been sunny but the breeze has made the time outside enjoyable. The excellent PHMC staff add to the excitement.

Congratulations to the following Allegheny and Beaver County staff members for receiving the Employee of the Quarter Award given by local Administrators and House Managers:

  • Margaret Henderson: Brodhead 1
  • Robin Heffner: Coleman
  • Celo Chavis: Countryview
  • Shannon Haberle: Wildwood
  • Nancy Soisson: Barclay

“These staff are some of the hardest working people at Merakey/AVS,” commented Administrator Stacey Speer. “They are always willing to help wherever and however they can with smiles on their faces. These staff are a positive example of teamwork and AVS would not be the same without them. I am grateful and proud to have them on the Merakey AVS Team!”

Some of the lovely ladies at Merakey AVS Verree Road in Philadelphia enjoyed a nice sunny day with The Philadelphia Eagles celebrating Eagles Women's Day Festival. They enjoyed face painting, different obstacles courses, and meeting Swoop, the Philadelphia Eagles Mascot. Quarterback Jalen Hurt and Linebacker Jeremiah Trotter were also in attendance, and both gave inspirational speeches.

What a wonderful night the individuals had at the annual Autism Care Foundation Formal. The theme was “A Night in Paris,” and the event space was decorated from head to toe. Attendees danced the night away, enjoyed dinner and dessert, and even met the CEO and President of the Autism Care Foundation. It was a great night and the individuals had a wonderful time. The Autism Cares Foundation (ACF) was founded in 2007 by Linda and Frank Kuepper, parents of a child with autism. Their goal was to establish an organization focused on improving life experiences of individuals with disabilities.

Stephanie and David from Lehigh Valley IDD program had a blast while dancing at the Arc of Lehigh and Northampton Counties earlier this week.

Wayne from Merakey AVS Verree Road and others enjoyed a day on the bowling lanes.

The ladies from Merakey AVS Patterson home visited Keystone Safari for an interactive day of feeding and petting animals.
