Women’s History Month had its origins as a national celebration in 1981 with just a week, and now it is celebrated throughout the month of March. The proclamation from Congress celebrates the contributions women have made to the United States and recognize the specific achievements women have made over the course of American history in a variety of fields. To celebrate this at the Autism and Education Center in Harrisburg, they created the "Our Root 66 Women's Wall" in the shape of the old Route 66 sign. Everyone, from staff to students, provided a list of names to be combined showing the women past and present that inspire them to reach for the stars.
