Congratulations to Merakey AVS’s 2022 CHAMPions! On September 19, the Merakey AVS Medical Team was honored at the Friends of Merakey AVS Golf Open for exceptional care of our M/AVS community. Golfers, donors, and volunteers came out to celebrate the CHAMPions and support our mission.
The ladies from Merakey Nolte were beyond excited to go to the Robinson Autumn Festival for food, shopping, and dancing to the festival’s live band.
Samuel, Megan, Bradford, Debbie, Gary, and Deb from Merakey AVS joined The Friendship Circle of Pittsburgh and Pittsburgh Jewish Outreach Initiative (JOY) for a Rosh Hashanah event. Rabbi Mordy talked about the significance of the Jewish New Year and had a round table for everyone to discuss their hopes for the year. Each participant was given a gift bag that included a honey stick to symbolize something sweet and a jar to decorate.
Happy Trails Pet Therapy visited Merakey AVS’s Edward J. Zapp Center. The meet-up incorporated a very diverse group of furry friends that have an appropriate temperament that warmed the hearts of individuals and staff that wished to visit. Chris from the Merakey Fox Home was previously reluctant with dogs, but towards the end of the visit he was excited to take the dog for a walk. Merakey AVS House Manager Michelle Schmidt is a volunteer at Happy Trails and brought her dog to make the initial contact with the group. Thanks to Michelle and her group of volunteers from Happy Trails for making everyone’s day so bright!
