Screentime with Friends
Liz, a program participant from Merakey Maratta, recently created a new way to connect with her peers. Liz started Zoom sessions called Friendship Circle and has invited other homes and staff from Merakey AVS to join. Liz develops an agenda for each meeting which includes a positive quote, social time to talk together, and plenty of laughs. Liz first came up with the idea after hearing that people were still feeling disconnected from the effects of the pandemic. Thank you, Liz for continuing to bring us together with our Merakey friends!
Splish Splash, it’sSummertime!
Individuals at the Evergreen and Ohioview homes are staying cool in the pool! With temperatures on the rise, many of our folks have taken to the water to cool down. Pool time is a great way to socialize, exercise, and enjoy the soothing effects of being in the water.
A Bountiful Summer Activity
The ladies from Merakey in Buckskin started their summer vegetable garden. The group worked together to select which vegetables they would grow and how. Everyone enjoyed spending time outdoors together as the garden was planted. The group planted vegetables, such as beefsteak tomatoes, sweet red peppers, cherry tomatoes, and green beans. We can’t wait to see what sprouts up in the coming weeks!
