Congratulations Alize Scheetz, Direct Support Professional of the Quarter! Alize has been a DSP with Merakey for two years and has been a huge support to the individuals that reside at Hummelstown Campus.
“Alize is kind, funny and truly cares for the individuals,“ commented Residential Services Manager Niki M. Ubaldi. “Thank you, Alize, for your dedication!”
The DSP of the quarter award has been made possible through Steven’s Fund to recognize Merakey Allegheny Valley School Direct Support Professionals. The fund was created in 2017 in memory of Steven Garlick by his mother Betsy Friedman. To contribute to the fund, visit http://avs.merakey.org/donate-now and include “Steven’s Fund” in the “other” and/or “comments / instructions” box.
Megan, Bradford, Debbie, Gary and Deb from Merakey joined The Friendship Circle of Pittsburgh, Jewish Residential Services of Pittsburgh, and Pittsburgh Jewish Outreach Initiative (JOY) for a virtual Passover celebration this week. The group discussed the basic understanding of Passover and learned all about Matzo including how it’s prepared, what it means and how to personalize it, and how to make your seder table beautiful. Each participant received a gift bag with items to help celebrate their Passover holiday.
