(January 17, 2025) Merakey is aware of a cybersecurity incident impacting PowerSchool’s Student Information System. PowerSchool provides cloud-based software to K-12 schools, including Merakey Education Centers. This security incident affected some of the districts using the PowerSchool Student Information System product. We are still awaiting details from PowerSchool regarding exactly what information was contained in our system that the “bad actors” may have accessed.
What we have received from PowerSchool is a link to a Frequently Asked Questions page for educators and families, which you can access here. They have noted that they will update this page “periodically as PowerSchool learns more information and takes additional steps in response to a recent security incident.”
We will provide updates as we receive additional information from PowerSchool.
