Years with Merakey

“Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.”
- Ralph Waldo Emerson

Tinnesia Snyder is currently the Senior Vice President of Adult Behavioral Health for Merakey.

Tinnesia has worked for Merakey since obtaining her bachelor’s degree from Thiel College in 1995. She started her career as a direct care worker and moving through the ranks to eventually serve the IDD Director in Allegheny County. In 1999, Tinnesia became the County Director in Washington County and expanded services into five counties, opening programs and filling roles in Children services, Adult Behavioral Health services, Autism services, and IDD services. In 2002, Tinnesia launched community based elder care services in Western PA, a service that was outside the scope of what Merakey traditionally provided but offered a unique opportunity to deliver care to a new population.

With assistance from Merakey, Tinnesia graduated in 2007 with an MBA in Health Care Administration and was promoted to Regional Executive Directors supporting all Merakey operations in Western PA. In 2011, she was instrumental in developing and operationalizing the first Merakey Dual Diagnosis Teams.

Tinnesia currently lives in Canonsburg, PA with her family.
