On May 3, the Merakey IDD Philadelphia Division enjoyed a day at sea aboard the Spirit of Philadelphia. The division had not celebrated as a group since 2019, and the Consumer Advisory Group shared that everyone needed a fun, relaxing day together. Over 120 Merakey individuals, DSPs, and members of management arrived at the dock in limos for a fancy start to the event. The Spirit of Philadelphia hosted a beautiful luncheon just for Merakey, to include dancing and formal photography. The rainy day did not dampen anyone’s spirits, even in the slightest. Between playing Michael Jackson’s greatest hits and starting up some line dancing, the individuals did not want to leave the dance floor until 3 hours after setting sail. A very special thank you to Program Specialist Phyllis LaRue and PQI Director Sheree Wright for organizing the event. Everyone had a fabulous time and looked gorgeous in their gowns and dapper tuxedos.
