Students in Miss Kassi's Emotional Support class at Merakey Education and Autism Center in State College completed the American Red Cross FAST (First Aid for Severe Trauma) training and certification. This training is part of Stop the Bleed, a national initiative to train bystanders to respond to life-threatening bleeding emergencies and is free for high school students through the American Red Cross.

To achieve certification, the students completed both cognitive and hands-on skill evaluations, such as applying direct pressure and making a tourniquet. Everyone learned a lot and left the training feeling more prepared for a possible emergency.
