In December, students at Merakey’s Education Center in State College, PA learned about doing kind things for others during the holiday season. The students all voted to bake and deliver homemade cookies to a local nursing home – but they didn’t just go to one nursing home, they went to five! The students were thrilled to visit the five locations of the Wynwood House Assisted Living Facilities in the State College area. They made over 800 homemade cookies for almost 150 residents and 50 staff members. It took three days to prepare the cookies, but the students all agreed it was worth the time and effort. The students enjoyed seeing the residents, talking to them, and singing Christmas carols with them.
