After a tragic fire destroyed its previous location earlier this year, Merakey’s Center for Hope in Newburgh, NY was thrilled to host a grand reopening celebration on November 14 at its newly renovated site. Members from the Center, Merakey staff, and community members joined together to officially cut the ribbon at the new location.
Merakey’s President and COO Ted Dallas, Senior Vice President of Children and Family Services Becki Richwine-Mann, Senior Executive Director for Family Services Kim Caton, Regional Director at Center for Hope Marie Gulari and her team welcomed guests, provided tours, and enjoyed refreshments.
For more than 12 years, Merakey’s Center for Hope has engaged youth ages 11-21 with after school and summer break activities as an alternative to violent, gang-related behavior. The Center offers members a safe space for homework and tutoring, as well as creative and holistic workshops like ceramics, soap making, photography, creative writing, nutrition, and more.
