Ocean City Trip
Billy from Sunset home, along with Genny, Cierra, and Wendy from Nolte home, recently enjoyed a fun-filled trip to Ocean City, New Jersey. The group was accompanied by Program Manager Susan White and Program Lead Beth Scarsellone. They spent time at the beach, took a leisurely stroll along the boardwalk, played a round of mini golf, and sampled a variety of delicious boardwalk treats. It was a wonderful outing for all.
Marigold Horticultural Therapy
Over the past year, Marigold Horticultural Therapy completed its inaugural program at Merakey AVS’s Verree Road Campus in Philadelphia! Participants took part in monthly hands-on activities to create and care for a sensory garden—growing flowers, vegetables, and plenty of smiles along the way. Staff and individuals worked together to produce farm-to-table items which were shared with the dietary team. This program has been a beautiful blend of therapy, teamwork, and nature!
Trip to Kennywood
Janna and her family enjoyed a fun-filled day at Kennywood alongside Genny, Wendy, and staff members Daria, Sammy, and Susan. This visit was extra exciting for Janna, as she tried several new rides for the first time, including the Steel Curtain, Spinvasion, and the Exterminator. Her favorite rides were the Black Widow, Phantom’s Revenge, and Spinvasion. Wendy cooled off with a splash on the Pittsburgh Plunge and had a blast riding the classic Merry-Go-Round. Genny showed her thrill-seeking spirit by taking on the Steel Curtain and its jaw-dropping nine inversion loops. To top off an amazing day, marching bands from various schools paraded through the park in the evening, filling the air with music and energy for all to enjoy.
Branchton Crews Adventures
Louis, John, and Eric from Branchton home have been on the go, enjoying all kinds of fun adventures! They’ve taken a scenic ride on the Oil Creek Train, explored beautiful sunflower fields at Renshaw Farms, and had multiple picnics in Cook Forest. They also checked out some cool events like the Portersville Steam Show and the Olivia Bartholomew Car Show. The Branchton crew really knows how to have a good time!
Almost Heaven Swings
The ladies from Galey home have been exploring several of the popular Almost Heaven Swings located at Wheeling Heritage Port, Grand Vue Park, and Oglebay Park. These unique swings, found throughout West Virginia, offer a one-of-a-kind way to experience the natural beauty of the Mountain State. Strategically placed at some of the most picturesque spots in the Appalachian Mountains, the swings invite visitors to sit back, relax, and take in the breathtaking views, or enjoy a bit of thrill by swinging out into the open air. The Galey ladies really enjoyed the swings and hope to see them again someday.
