AVS at Eagles Practice

Individuals at Merakey AVS Verree Road recently attended the Philadelphia Eagles open practice. They joined in with the chants and enjoyed the music that was playing during the practice. Everyone proudly wore their Eagles gear!


Michael Jackson's Birthday

The Merakey AVS Verree Philadelphia campus enjoyed celebrating Michael Jackson’s birthday. Many individuals dressed up and listened to his music. The day was made extra special when a Michael Jackson impersonator appeared on campus and gave the individuals and staff an awesome performance.


Trip to the Mall and Park

The ladies from Merakey Wiltshire enjoyed an afternoon at Robinson Mall and a concert at Robin Hill Park.


Sensory Space

The individuals at Merakey Windy Ghoul home recently transformed a room into a calming sensory and activity space, and the guys who live there are loving it. It’s now a favorite spot to relax, explore, and enjoy activities together.


Summer Adventures

Cheyan, Genny, and Wendy are wrapping up summer with some fun and memorable adventures. From playing mini golf, exploring the Andy Warhol Museum. and attending a special 25th anniversary showing of Harry Potter at the movie theater, they’ve made the most of the season.


Theresa makes Pizza

Theresa from Merakey Crestview Home recently showed off her cooking skills by making delicious homemade pizza. Everyone loves seeing Theresa in the kitchen, watching her creativity and enjoying the process of making a tasty meal from scratch.


Keystone Safari

Individuals from the Slippery Rock Program Center visited The Keystone Safari near Grove City, PA. Several participants liked the lemurs, while others liked the Highland cows. The Monarch Butterfly enclosure, however, was the biggest hit. The butterflies' ticklish legs made the individuals laugh when they landed on them. After seeing all the animals, everyone enjoyed a picnic lunch onsite.


Willow Acres Summer Fun

Bobby, Mark, Sean, and Paul from the Willow Acres house near Slippery Rock have had an amazing summer by going on small adventures. They visited the Spillway in Linesville, the Cook Forest Sensory Trail, and Fun Fore. One of their favorite places at Cook Forest was the Pickle Shop where they each picked out a T-Shirt. They love new adventures and always have fun wherever they go.


Linesville Spillway

The Linesville Spillway is a popular place for the individuals at the Slippery Rock Program Center to visit. They love watching the fish and ducks greedily eat the bread tossed to them. Everyone recently enjoyed a visit during a beautiful and sunny day.


Hookstown Fair

Mike from Merakey Lincoln attended the local Hookstown Fair. He rode the carnival rides, played games, and enjoyed tasty treats from food trucks.


Cook off Contest

Congratulations to individuals from Chestnut Road home for winning “Merakey’s Top Chef,” a reality show-style cook-off held at one of Merakey’s homes. During a recent event, the winners were the individuals and staff from Chestnut Road home. Their delicious Crack Chicken won them a pizza party. Great job, everyone!
