Butler Farm Show
Some of the gang from the Slippery Rock Program Center recently visited the Butler Farm Show. Individuals and staff had a blast riding the paddle boats and checking out the animals. One brave soul rode the Ring of Fire attraction, and several individuals were fascinated with the giant skeleton. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed eating some yummy treats.
Summer Fun for Branchton House
The Branchton Crew from Slippery Rock has been making the most of summer. They explored the Tom Ridge Environmental Center in Erie, took in the views on a scenic drive through Presque Isle, and went fishing at Grove City Park and McDaniel’s Boat Launch in Moraine State Park. Louis, Eric, and John had an especially good time at Grove City Park. They fed the geese and talked to many different people in the community. Their favorite part was enjoying ice cream from Dairy Queen. It was a great way to beat the heat.
Lonnie Loves His Bike
Lonnie made the most of a beautiful summer day with a bike ride around the Edward J. Zapp Center. Motor Development Specialist Amber Wilson shared, “He absolutely LOVES this bike. I had a hard time convincing him to come inside. What a huge smile!”
Happy Birthday Joshua
The individuals at Merakey AVS on Verree Road in Philadelphia enjoyed celebrating their friend Joshua’s birthday this week. Everyone wore Eagles gear in his honor and enjoyed listening to music by Joshua’s favorite singer, Micheal Jackson. Joshua was so happy to share his birthday with the group and smiled with joy when everyone sang Happy Birthday to him.
Consumer Advisory Group Activity
Merakey’s Consumer Advisory Group at High Point Center in Dubois, PA has been enjoying their time together. They recently chose to have a summer picnic, during which they tie dyed shirts to wear at future events.
