Splash Bash

Jennings Environmental Center
A few small groups from the Slippery Rock Program Center recently went to Jennings Environmental Center. While there, they explored the nature trails, had a scavenger hunt for various items along the trail, and played a game of hide and seek. Everyone had a great time logging their finds into their logbook. They left behind their footprints and a thank you card for the folks who run the Environmental Center. It was a fun and interactive way to learn about nature.
Pearson Park
Slippery Rock Program Instructor Cindy Solman took her area to Pearson Park in New Castle. They had a great time exploring the park, playing games, and enjoying a picnic lunch. It was a beautiful day to enjoy the park.
Wellness Fair 2026
NE and Central PA IDD hosted their first annual Wellness Event on July 29 in Harrisburg. All six centers and support departments had a table with their own health-related topic. Topics included hand washing, pet therapy, healthy snacks, aromatherapy, exercise, etc. The Wellness Fair had over 100 people in attendance. Many thanks to all who helped make this event such a success!
