Splash Party
Our Splash Party at County Line Road in Warminster was a huge success. Everyone had a blast cooling off with water activities, playing games, enjoying great music, and spending time with friends. The day was filled with laughter, teamwork, and plenty of smiles as individuals and staff joined in the fun together. Events like these help build meaningful connections, create lasting memories, and strengthen our community.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this an amazing day.
Liz in the Garden
Liz from Oakhaven has been hard at work caring for the house garden this summer. Her dedication has paid off with a harvest of fresh green beans and tomatoes. Great job, Liz!
Billy and Friends at the Pirates
Billy and his friends had a fantastic day cheering on the Pittsburgh Pirates. They enjoyed lunch in a suite, had an unforgettable visit from the Pirates mascot, and made great memories together. It was a fun day at the ballpark for everyone.
North Shore Trip
Russ, Chris, Janna, and Liz enjoyed a perfect summer day on Pittsburgh's North Shore. They cooled off on the water steps, then topped it all off with a delicious frozen yogurt treat.
Tony Tunes
On the third Friday of every month, Computer Instructor Tony Bellassai holds a concert at Slippery Rock Program Center. Many of the individuals enjoy playing instruments with the band. Others enjoy dancing to the tunes. Luckily the weather was beautiful, so the last concert was held in the sensory garden. Everyone loves Tony Tunes and looks forward to the program each month.
Shopping at Boscov's
When the weather turns rainy, sometimes CPS outing plans change for the Slippery Rock Program Center. Program Aide Ashley Sutton didn't let a little rain stop her. She took her small group to Boscov's to go shopping and people watch. Everyone had a great time looking at the hats. Michelle found a backpack she loved. It was a nice way to spend a rainy day.
New Ventures 250th Celebration
The New Ventures CPS program participants and staff had a great time celebrating America’s 250th birthday. Everyone worked together to beautify the indoor and outdoor space by planting colorful flowers and decorating with red, white, and blue patriotic displays. Participants made a creative art project, using their handprints to create a large American Flag which proudly showcased their teamwork and patriotism. These activities provided opportunities for creativity, community involvement, and celebrating the nation’s history. The group took great pride in helping transform the space into a festive and welcoming environment for everyone to enjoy.
