Staff from Slippery Rock Program Center took a small group to go blueberry picking at Bowser’s Blueberry Farm in Butler, PA. Everyone worked hard to fill their buckets and harder to fight the temptation to not eat all the delicious berries. The group plans on using the berries to make muffins and possibly pie. Everyone had a great time.
Billy, Kevin, Genny, and Wendy were joined by House Managers Beth and Susan for a glamping trip to Cooks Forest, PA. The highlights of their trip were tubing in Lake Erie and exploring the beach.
The ladies from Barclay home at Merakey AVS visited the National Aviary in Pittsburgh. Cathy used sign language to point out the birds, while Pam and Lydia smiled and enjoyed the beautiful surroundings.
Deborah, Joan, Cindy, and Tricia from Merakey AVS’s Galey home enjoyed a recent visit to Living Treasures Animal Park.
Staff and individuals from Merakey AVS Verree Road in Philadelphia found a new way to beat the heat by going to the Big Kahuna Water Park in New Jersey. They enjoyed the wave pool, lazy river, and other water activities. Everyone had a blast!
Staff and individuals from Merakey AVS Veree Road enjoyed an evening at the Viral Royal Buffet in Philadelphia. They explored the many different cultural foods, including Italian, Mexican, Chinese and African. The staff at the buffet were friendly and reserved a table for the group to enjoy their experience. During their meal, the staff danced for the group! Everyone is looking forward to going back again soon.
