Big Butler Fair
The Big Butler Fair generously donated free admission passes for Merakey individuals. Several small groups from the Slippery Rock Program Center attended the Big Butler Fair throughout the week it was in town. They enjoyed seeing the different animals, trying their luck at carnival games, and eating the yummy fair food.
Legacy Fitness
A small group of individuals from Slippery Rock Program Center continue to attend Legacy Fitness in Butler every Wednesday. Legacy Fitness provides workouts for people of varying abilities. They like getting physically fit while meeting new friends.
Pirates Game
Charlie S., who resides at the Butler CLA home, had a great time at the Pittsburgh Pirates game. Charlie is an avid sports enthusiast who loves following all the Pittsburgh teams.
Disability Pride
Merakey IDD was proud to attend Washington County's first Disability Pride event.
There were approximately 25 vendors from various organizations in attendance. The goal of the event was to provide information on inclusion, individual rights, and resources for those with a disability in western Pennsylvania. Many of the attendees stopped by to discuss resources and programs with those stationed at the Merakey table.
