Jennings Environmental Center

A group of individuals from the Slippery Rock Program Center went to Jennings Environmental Center to go on a nature walk. Everyone enjoyed pointing out different plants, animals, and insects in the beautiful sunshine. There were several activities to participate in along the trails. Afterward, everyone enjoyed a picnic lunch.


First Responder Party

Individuals from the Penn Hills Day Program assembled bags for the local First Responders. They then held their 3rd annual First Responder Party, inviting all the local Fire, EMS, Police, and Municipal workers. They enjoyed food, dancing, and time outside checking out the dump truck and fire truck.


Baby Shower

Staff and Individuals from the Penn Hills Day Program helped celebrate staff member Romen and her soon-to-be new baby with a small Baby Shower. Individuals enjoyed playing baby bingo, eating lunch together, and helping Romen open presents.


Together Forever Party

There was plenty of love and laughter at Debbie and Josh's Together Forever Party on Verree Road. Congratulations to the happy couple!


Verree Road Juneteenth

Verree Road staff and individuals came together to joyfully celebrate Juneteenth along with June birthdays. The group enjoyed delicious cake, tasty pretzels, and refreshing water ice.


Pirates Game

Wildwood Individuals James, Jonathan, and Keith, along with staff members Christian, Jamie, and Wendy had a great time at PNC Park. They cheered on the Pittsburgh Pirates as they defeated the Miami Marlins 5-2 and celebrated Andrew McCutchen moving up to third all-time on the Pirates' home run list.


Headlands Beach State Park

The ladies from Galey enjoyed a fun-filled visit to Headlands Beach State Park. They had a blast watching and listening to the waves crashing onto the shore and discovering all kinds of unique rocks scattered along the sand. The day was capped off with a picnic on the beach.


Dog Days of Summer

Individuals from the Slippery Rock Program Center went to Ewing Park in Ellwood City to attend the Dog Days of Summer. Several K-9 Units from the Pennsylvania State Police put on demonstrations. There were obstacle courses, pool diving, and meet and greets with the officers and their K-9 companions. Everyone enjoyed watching the dogs run their obstacle courses and jump in the water. They especially loved meeting the dogs.


Happpy 40th Anniversary Cheryl

Pittsburgh Nurse Case Manager Cheryl Mott recently celebrated 40 years with Merakey AVS. Known as “The Mayor” on campus, Cheryl also serves as the actual Mayor of Hookstown Borough, PA. Thank you for 40 wonderful years, Cheryl!


Alabama Concert

Kori N., an individual who lives at the East Gait SFR, recently attended an Alabama Concert at the Iron City Stage at Pittsburgh Brew Works. Kori has always loved the group Alabama. She had a great time bopping and clapping along as the band played. She was super excited to hear them play her favorite song, “Mountain Music.”
