Idlewild Trip
Individuals and Staff from New Ventures Day Program in Portage enjoyed a day trip to Idlewild. The group enjoyed the nice weather and going through story book forest.
80s Prom
Merakey SMC had an ‘80s Prom last week. Everyone had a great time enjoying music from the ‘80s. Special thanks to all the staff who helped with coming up with the idea, putting up decorations, and giving the individuals an awesome event to attend!
Out and About
Cierra, Genny, and Wendy from Nolte enjoyed a day of shopping in Pittsburgh’s Strip District. They also attended Garrison Days in Beaver County, a lively community festival featuring local vendors, delicious food, and live music.

Merakey Meets is a new program in VA Beach that connects the individuals we serve with local leaders and community helpers. Our goal is to promote inclusivity, raise awareness, build relationships, and teach new skills by introducing our consumers to those who shape their communities.
Our first event, Merakey Meets the Mayor of Virginia Beach, Robert “Bobby D” Dyer, was a great success! Mayor Dyer, a Marine Corps Veteran and the City’s first directly elected Veteran mayor, shared the importance of connection and inclusion. With extensive experience in public service and leadership, Mayor Dyer’s involvement highlights our commitment to empowering individuals with disabilities.
Because our individuals deserve to be seen and included. Together, we are changing the narrative and building community.
