AVS Night at the Pirates-Game
It was a fantastic evening as Merakey AVS individuals, employees, friends, and supporters gathered at the Skull Bar in PNC Park to watch the Pittsburgh Pirates take on the Colorado Rockies. Guests enjoyed a classic ballpark buffet, caught up with friends, and took in all the excitement of the game. Even the chilly weather couldn’t keep this group from having a great time together!

Dinosaurs Exhibit
The Ewings Mill ladies recently enjoyed a fun-filled trip to the Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium to experience the exciting Dinosaurs exhibit.
Everyone had a great time learning fun facts about dinosaurs and watching the animatronic dinosaurs move, especially the giant T-Rex. Anna was especially excited to see the dinosaur with bat-like wings since she loves the bat exhibit.
The group also enjoyed fun photo opportunities in a dinosaur egg and butterfly seat, along with visiting all the animal exhibits. One favorite moment was watching a monkey playfully swing from a rope.

Oregon Road Happenings
The ladies at the Oregon Road SFR near Slippery Rock have been busy. Now that spring is here and the weather is more pleasant, the ladies have been doing Community Participation outings and hosting other houses for themed parties. The ladies have traveled to Erie and visited White House Farms. They loved seeing the lighthouse at Erie and playing in the sand. They enjoyed strolling through the orchards at White House Farms and having a picnic lunch. They even hosted a spa day party with the ladies from Centreville Pike and New Castle Street. Everyone enjoyed being pampered and enjoying treats. Each lady received a small goody bag of self-care items. The ladies also hosted the gentlemen from Route 173 for a fishing party. Some enjoyed trying to catch fish in a small pool on the deck while others made a fish craft and enjoyed some fishing themed goodies. The parties at Oregon are always a popular way for individuals to have fun with their peers.

They always enjoy seeing how the gardens change from previous visits

Program Instructor Christie Roxberry from the Slippery Rock Program Center took a few of her folks to the Keystone Safari near Grove City, PA. Everyone enjoyed seeing the animals. Some liked the lions, while others liked the pretty birds. A few even posed like a bird. All of them enjoyed feeding the rambunctious goats. After the visit to Keystone Safari, they stopped at a nearby park for a picnic. It was a great day.
