Easter Celebrations Round Up - Green Garden

Happy Easter from the Green Garden ladies. We even caught the Easter Bunny stopping by to drop off some baskets, which was such a fun surprise. We hope everyone a joyful and bright holiday.

Easter Celebrations Round Up - Classroom 4

Classroom 4 at the Pittsburgh Campus had a fun-filled Easter party. The group enjoyed making a festive craft, playing bingo, reading Easter stories, and wrapping it all up with an exciting egg hunt. It was a great day of celebration and smiles.

Easter Celebrations Round Up - Slippery Rock

A few of the individuals at the Slippery Rock Program Center had fun during the Easter Party playing bunny ears ring toss. Everyone ended up laughing by the end of the game. The center also held an Easter Egg Hunt for the individuals. Luckily, the weather cooperated so they could search outside in the sensory garden. They had so much fun trying to find all the hidden eggs. Some individuals decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather to dye their Easter Eggs outside in the sensory garden. They enjoyed choosing the colors for the eggs while soft warm breezes blew through the air.

Easter Celebrations Round Up - Springtime at Hummelstown

Springtime fun is in bloom at Merakey’s Hummelstown Campus. The Easter Bunny hopped by for a special visit and left behind eggs filled with sweet surprises. The individuals also got creative dyeing colorful eggs and making adorable bunny hats.

Easter Celebrations Round Up - Penn Hills Easter

Individuals from Penn Hills Day Program enjoyed a fun day celebrating Easter. We dyed Easter eggs, ate some yummy snacks and completed a fun Treasure Hunt.


Psychology Museum

London recently visited the Cummings Psychology Museum. She loved laying on Dr. Freud's couch to discuss her feelings and tested her skills to see if she could handle the stress of being an Airforce pilot. She learned about Psychology testing done on prisoners and interacted with displays about Babe Ruth in the Psychology of sports. London was fascinated by the brain displays and tried different experiments while learning about how history treated those with mental disorders.


Bowling Party

The fun didn’t stop when the Merakey Foundation Bowling Tournament ended. Individuals from Allegheny and Beaver Counties hosted their own bowling party at Paradise Lanes in Neville Island, PA, so they could still join in on the excitement. It was a great way to keep the celebration going and be part of this fantastic company-wide event.


Music Class

The Merakey Foundation has been a great support to the Penn Hills ATF. Individuals at the day program have been enjoying music class twice a month and will continue to do so all year long. Listening to songs, playing music bingo and trying out different instruments. It’s always a good time and the music is very therapeutic.


Spring Walks

Genny from Merakey Nolte is making the most of the beautiful spring weather by getting out and enjoying walks around Pittsburgh. There’s nothing like fresh air and sunshine to brighten Genny’s day.


Otherworld

Individuals at the Merakey AVS/Philadelphia Campus enjoyed going on an outing and spending the day at Otherworld. Otherworld is a sensory filled experience with different immersive art everywhere you turn. Everyone had a cool experience.


New Games

The Merakey Foundation recently provided the Penn Hills ATF with new games and puzzles. The individuals had so much fun trying out all the activities.


Museum of Illusions

Individuals and staff from Penn Hills day program enjoyed a trip to the Museum of Illusions in Pittsburgh. Everyone enjoyed the fun and often silly visuals created by the exhibits. A fun time was had by all.
