316 Day

Classroom #6 at Merakey AVS’s Pittsburgh Campus celebrated 3:16 Day in honor of Stone Cold Steve Austin from WWE. They made themed crafts and enjoyed watching classic wrestling matches together.

Crafts at the Mansion

The Ewings Mill ladies enjoy visiting the Captain William Vicary Mansion for crafts with Brenda and Kenny. During their latest visit, they got creative making bunny-themed towels. They used unique tools like marshmallows and Peeps for painting, along with an iron and hair dryer to complete their designs. Each piece turned out to be a one-of-a-kind masterpiece. They’re already looking forward to their next visit.

Together after the Storm

During the recent storms in Western PA, Merakey Clearview home was left without water. The ladies from Green Garden welcomed their Clearview friends to their location to spend the day together. It was a great example of teamwork, support, and community in action.

Line Dancing Class

Genny and Wendy from Merakey AVS’s Nolte home had a great time taking a country line dancing class at Emphico Fitness Studio in Coraopolis, PA.

Kraynak's Visit

Staff members Shyanne, Dawn, and Jamica joined the guys from the Windy Ghoul home for a fun trip to see the Easter Bunny at Kraynak’s.

PGH Campus St. Patricks-Day

Merakey AVS’s Pittsburgh Campus celebrated St. Patrick’s Day with a fun-filled day of festivities. There were games, decorations, crafts, and plenty of Irish music to listen and dance to. The highlight of the day was a special visit from a leprechaun. A big thank you to the Pittsburgh Nursing, Psychology, Residential, and Social Services teams for helping make the event so memorable.

Planetarium Visit

A group from the Slippery Rock Program Center visited the Planetarium at Westminster College. The individuals were fascinated by the images of our solar system, constellations, and the universe. During that time, they felt like they had taken a trip into outer space. It was a great learning experience for all.

Seeing the Easter Bunny

Several small groups from the Slippery Rock Program Center have been visiting Kraynak's to check out the Easter displays. Some liked the traditional religious display, some liked the patriotic display, and everyone loved seeing the Easter Bunny. The highlight of the trip is always when the group heads to lunch at Golden Corral after seeing all the displays.

Slippery Rock St. Patrick's

The folks at the Slippery Rock Program Center celebrated St. Patrick's Day with a party. Some enjoyed playing St. Patrick's Day themed games like Pin the Hat on the Leprechaun, while others liked making St. Patrick's Day crafts. Everyone enjoyed a visit from their favorite leprechaun, Andrew. Of course, the St. Patrick's Day treats were a big hit, too.

Trip to the Zoo

It was a perfect day for Christine and friends to get out and enjoy the fresh air and animals at the Philadelphia Zoo. Christine walked to the different exhibits and watched the many animals walk around in their habitats.

Flower Show

Some Merakey individuals enjoyed a trip to The Philadelphia Flower Show. This year’s theme was called “Rooted.” The group saw many displays of different types of flowers and where they came from. It was a fun day with beautiful surroundings.
