Spring Planting

The individuals at the SlippeSy Rock Program Center are eager for spring to begin. A small group went on community participation trip to buy seeds. Kenton and Paul picked out several vegetable seeds such as tomatoes and peppers. They also picked out some flower seeds. Then several areas planted the seeds in a special growing tray to get the plants started for the planting boxes in the sensory garden. They look forward to harvesting the plants in the summer to make homemade salsa to sell. They will use the plants that produce flowers as gifts to celebrate special occasions such as Nurse's Day and Mother's Day.

Exploring Pittsburgh

Groups have been exploring Pittsburgh and enjoying local favorites like Queen B’s Coffee, Fired Up Pottery, and hiking at Settlers Ridge. These adventures are a great way to be outside, stay active, and experience the community.

Penguins Game

Individuals and staff had a fun time at the hockey game cheering on the Pittsburgh Penguins as they faced the Vegas Golden Knights. The energy in the arena was incredible, and the Penguins skated away with a big 5–0 victory.

Buddy Ball Dance

Lights, camera, friendship! Individuals had an amazing time at the Best Buddies Buddy Ball Dance with this year’s “Buddywood” (Hollywood) theme. Everyone enjoyed dancing to an entertaining DJ, taking fun photos, and sharing dinner together, complete with giant chocolate chip cookies. The memorable evening took place at the Renaissance Hotel in Pittsburgh and was filled with smiles, laughter, and great friendships.

Making Dinner

Teresa is settling into life at Crestview home and recently had a great time helping make dinner for the home. She teamed up with staff member Regina Santeufemio to prepare homemade gnocchi, which was delicious and fun for everyone.
