Steels Brushes & Ceramics

The crew from Butler Community Living Arrangement (CLA) had an absolute blast at Steels Brushes & Ceramics. They’ve also been hard at work getting their house decked out for St. Patrick’s Day. Everyone is itching to get closer to springtime.

Wildwood Winter Outings

Kaler, Kregg, James, Jonathan, and Keith from Wildwood home have been making the most of a busy winter. They explored the beautiful Winter Flower Show at Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, made new friends at Build-A-Bear, and enjoyed a fun day of bowling. Jonathan even kicked it up a notch with some high-speed excitement at Three Rivers Karting.

St. Patrick’s Day Party

Buckskin home recently hosted an early and festive St. Patrick’s Day party. Sunset joined the celebration, and everyone had a wonderful time making suncatchers, one to keep and one to share with family. After crafting, they enjoyed a small snack to wrap up the fun. It was a lucky day filled with creativity and smiles.

Celebrating Caregiver Appreciation Day

Employees in Western PA celebrated National Caregiver Appreciation Day on February 20. Thanks to a generous donation from CentiMark Foundation, a gift card drawing was held to help spread extra cheer. Everyone at Merakey thanks the incredible staff who give their heart and soul to support those in their care every day.

Olympics SRPC Style

The back areas of the Slippery Rock Program Center created their own Olympic games. The individuals enjoyed participating in events such as Olympic Ring Shotput, races, sorting contests, paper chain making contests, and several others. Between activities, they watched the Olympic Games. Most individuals loved the figure skating competitions and skiing. Everyone earned a gold medal for participation, which they were happy to show off.

SRPC trip to Phipps

A group from the Slippery Rock Program Center went to Phipps Conservatory to see the new displays. They enjoyed the peaceful beauty of the many garden displays. Some were fascinated by the glass artwork pieces by Dale Chihuly. Everyone was glad to see the fresh greenery rather than all the snow. It was a fun, relaxing outing that helped them forget about winter for a little while.

Coffaros Bowling

Some of the gang from the Slippery Rock Program Center went bowling at Coffaro's bowling alley. They are getting ready for the upcoming big bowling tournament for Merakey. They had a great time knocking down pins and enjoyed having a couple slices of pizza for lunch.

Celebrating Black History Month

Staff and individuals at 159 E. County Line Road Day Program in Philadelphia celebrated Black History Month in February with a door decorating contest. The event was a great success.
