On Friday, January 24, Stephanie from Lehigh County, PA celebrated her 40th birthday party at Sky Zone with her friends. The group had a wonderful time together and loved marking Stephanie’s milestone birthday with her.
Alex, Mike, Kevin, Brian and Jeffrey from Hookstown home have been out and about in Pittsburgh. They recently visited the Museum of Illusions, Carnegie Science Center and National Aviary.
The guys from Robinson Group Home visited the Air Aviation Heritage Museum in Chippewa, PA. Petie, Dan and Gary are pictured with some of their favorite exhibits.
Congratulations Jamie Pedaline! Jamie is the recipient of the Merakey AVS Steven’s Fund Direct Support Professional of the Quarter Award for Fall 2024. Jamie has worked for Merakey AVS for 29 years and currently supports the gentleman at the Wildwood Home in Beaver County. She was nominated by House Manager Christian Cuspard for her willingness to go above and beyond for the individuals that she supports, always advocating on behalf of those individuals, and maintaining an outstanding work ethic. The award was presented by Administrator Stacey Speer, Edward J. Zapp Program Director Jan Harvilla and Christian Cuspard, who all had wonderful things to say about Jamie.
“Jamie doesn’t just do her job, she elevates the entire team,” commented Stacey Speer. “When a client or co-worker is struggling, she’s the first to offer to help. Jamie represents the very best of what Merakey stands for.”
“Over her remarkable 29-year journey, Jamie has embraced the mission of teaching and empowering individuals to learn and grow,” added Jan Harvilla. “She’s been a guiding light to new employees, welcoming them with open arms and coaching them as they navigate new roles.”
Jamie was overjoyed to accept the award and commented on how lucky she is to work with such wonderful individuals and co-workers.
The DSP of the quarter award has been made possible through Steven’s Fund to recognize Merakey Allegheny Valley School Direct Support Professionals. The fund was created in 2017 in memory of Steven Garlick by his mother Betsy Friedman.
