Merakey’s Bradshaw office in Sacramento, CA hosted a festive holiday party last week. Everyone had fun celebrating the holidays together.
Fifth and sixth grade students at Archangel Gabriel Catholic School in Robinson Township, PA spread some holiday cheer to individuals and staff at Merakey AVS’s Pittsburgh Campus. The students made special cards for everyone to celebrate the season. Pittsburgh Campus Elf Linda Adkins delivered the cards to the employee mailboxes.
Individuals and staff from Merakey Centreville Pike enjoyed the holiday by attending the Trans-Siberian Orchestra Show in Pittsburgh.
Happy 60th Birthday Kevin! Kevin celebrated his big day with dinner at Buca di Beppo and a visit to the Carnegie Science Center with friends.
The Greater McKees Rocks Rotary Club gave holiday gifts to 25 individuals at Merakey AVS’s Countryview, Nolte, Pine Hollow I & II, and Robinson homes. Everyone was thrilled to carry on the tradition of partnering with a local Rotary Club to make the season special for so many.
Dr. Michael May, Clinical Director of Merakey AVS East Intermediate Care Facility Programs is this year’s recipient of the Earl L. Loschen Award for Clinical Practice through National Association for the Dually Diagnosed (NADD). The award was presented at the 40th Annual NADD Conference in Nashville, Tennessee in December.
He was nominated by Merakey’s Senior. Executive Director of Clinical Services Tim Barksdale who commented “we are incredibly proud of Dr. May. He is a gifted clinician and the nicest human being on the planet.”
This honor is bestowed annually to a person whose contribution in the area of clinical practice has resulted in significant improvement in the quality of life for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities as well as mental health needs. Previous winners include Merakey Clinical Director Robin Van Eerden in 2021. Michael was joined by many Merakey IDD colleagues for a celebratory dinner during the 3-day conference.
