The Grinch came to visit the Green Garden ladies during their house holiday party. He planned on stealing all the gifts, but once he got to know the ladies, his heart grew a little bigger. He spread some cheer by passing out presents. The ladies, staff, and families had a jolly good time!
The Pittsburgh Campus Advocacy Group members Jon, Roni, Shawnn, Kathy, and Sharon rolled up their sleeves and had a fun time creating tie-dye shirts. Once they were dry, they added lettering that spells out Advocacy Group Member, We make a difference along with their names. Everyone enjoyed the colorful project.
Members of the Western PA Recruitment Team visited the Merakey AVS Pittsburgh Campus to spread some holiday cheer by decorating the outdoor amphitheater tree. They had a chance to interact with many of the individuals who live on the campus and with staff who they helped to hire.
“Getting to know some of the individuals in our care is very rewarding,” commented Director of Recruiting Jim Bataglia.
“Thank you so much for having us,” added Lead Recruiter Julie Myers. “We very much enjoyed our time there and getting to experience the happiness and joy in the consumers. They are so lucky to have all of you.”
In honor of the holiday season, several of the individuals who attend Slippery Rock Program Center wanted to give back to the community by ringing the bell for the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Collection. A few went to the Giant Eagle in Slippery Rock, while others went to various locations in Butler, PA. The individuals took great pride in volunteering for a good cause.
