Snow Day
The guys at Branchton home know how to spend a snow day! Louis and staff member Jackie built an awesome snowman, while John and Eric crafted a homemade pipe with staff member Lexi. They had a blast working together to bring this fun character to life.
Consumer Advisory Group Party
Big thanks to Robert Reger, Gretchen Crowe, and Jody Rhoads for hosting a fantastic Consumer Advisory Group party at the IDD Millersburg house. Twelve individuals joined for a lively white elephant gift exchange, and staff turnout was amazing. It was a great day of connection and fun.
PVGPrix Victory Lap Celebration
Individuals and staff from Merakey AVS joined the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix for their Victory Lap celebration of the 2025 events. This annual gathering showcases the spirit of the PVGP by presenting donations to its charities and honoring the partners and volunteers who make it all possible.
Tony from Merakey AVS and Anita from Autism Pittsburgh delivered moving speeches on behalf of their organizations. Wendy, Olive, Megan, Kregg, and Laura from Merakey AVS performed a beautiful sign-language rendition of “You’ve Got a Friend in Me.”
Those we support created heartfelt thank-you cards, which were shared with all attendees.
Merakey Allegheny Valley School and Autism Pittsburgh proudly accepted a $100,000 donation, bringing PVGP’s total charitable contributions since 1983 to an inspiring $7.2 million.
Windy Ghoul Holiday Season
William, Jason, Lucas, and Anthony from Windy Ghoul home have been extra busy this holiday season. They’ve spent time decorating cinnamon ornaments, baking muffins, cheering at a Christmas parade, and exploring the Nutcracker Village in Steubenville, Ohio. The individuals are making the most of every festive moment.
Visiting the Christmas Displays
Several individuals from the Slippery Rock Program Center have been checking out different Christmas displays over the last few weeks. Kraynak's and the Christmas Spirit Store have become popular destinations. Some of the individuals have also visited Santaland at the Clearview Mall, hoping to catch a glimpse of Santa Claus. Everyone has been having a great holiday season so far.
Winter Bowling
Sometimes it's hard to find different activities to do in the winter. Individuals at the Slippery Rock Program Center decided to take a vote on what to do, and the verdict was to go bowling. They had a great time knocking down pins and enjoyed being indoors on a cold day.
AVS Holiday Party
Holiday joy was overflowing at the annual Merakey AVS Allegheny and Beaver County holiday party. Friends danced, celebrated, shared smiles, and enjoyed a cheerful visit from Santa himself. Thank you to the outstanding programming staff at Edward J. Zapp and Kennedy Centers for creating such a wonderful event.
NJ Holiday Party
Merakey IDD in New Jersey enjoyed the first of two holiday parties. Everyone was thrilled with the wonderful turnout and participation at the party. A special thank you to Tori, Lissette, and Tawana for their hard work and coordination in planning this celebration.
