AVS Central Waiver Halloween Party

‘Twas the week before Halloween, and so AVS Central IDD held a delightful Halloween Party!

SMCLehigh Trunk or Treat and Parade

SMC/Lehigh Residential and Life Sharing program participated in their first local parade and a community “Trunk or Treat”. The individuals and staff worked very hard to decorate their floats and prep for the parade. The individuals enjoyed the parade and can’t wait to do it all again next year! Everyone enjoyed handing out candy and fidget items. Their creativity and dedication paid off, as they won third place! The individuals can’t wait to celebrate with a delicious pizza party.

Horses at Fox Creek Stables

The crisp weather has been wonderful, so John went out to enjoy the company of petting and grooming horses at Fox Creek Stables on a beautiful Friday afternoon.

Oregon Scarecrow Making

The ladies and staff at Oregon Road got into the fall spirit with a fun scarecrow-making competition. Each shift, along with their Program Lead, created their own unique scarecrow with help from the clients, making each creation extra special. After votes from an unbiased third party, the 1st shift took home the win with their festive scarecrow sporting a bright yellow sunflower shirt!

New Ventures Smores

Individuals and staff from New Ventures Day Program in Portage enjoyed a Friday by the fire listening to camp songs and enjoying freshly toasted smores.

Patricia Hillman Miller Fall Festival

Patricia Hillman Miller Campus’s recent Fall Festival featured a petting zoo, face painting, food, games and activities in the LHAS Sensory Garden. It was a wonderful day of community, connection and seasonal fun!

Classroom 4 Janoski's Farm

Classroom 4 from our Pittsburgh Campus enjoyed a fabulous trip to Janoski’s Farm! From picking out pumpkins to going on a hayride, everyone enjoyed some fall fun and made special memories.

Slippery Rock Pumpkin Carving

After Slippery Rock Program Instructor Danielle Mitchell took her crew to a pumpkin patch to pick pumpkins, they spent an afternoon carving them. Everyone got into the creative spirit with their own unique designs. Some really didn't like touching the gooey insides of the pumpkins to get the seeds out, but they all enjoyed the reward of snacking on roasted pumpkin seeds!

2026 Hummelstown Campus Halloween

Lots of Halloween fun was had at the Hummelstown Campus! From games and crafts to face painting, Trunk-or-Treat and a haunted sensory path, there was something for everyone to enjoy! They even held a costume contest to show off everyone’s spooky, silly and creative looks.

Slippery Rock Haunted House

Slippery Rock Program Instructor Cindy Solman did it again! She and her crew managed to turn an ordinary classroom into an original Haunted House. Slippery Rock hosted groups from Zapp, Kennedy and Patricia Hilman. Everyone loved the thrills and chills of this year's haunt and were so excited to reunite with some of their old friends from the other campuses.

Harmony Road Zombie Prom

Harmony Road's Program Lead Jamie Surrena works hard every year to host a Halloween Dinner Dance for the Slippery Rock area. With some help from her friends, she transformed the Slippery Rock Township Building into a Zombie Ballroom for the Zombie Prom! Many of the individuals loved dressing like zombies, while others chose different costumes. Everyone had a great time eating pizza and boogeying down to "The Monster Mash." Thank you, Jamie, for giving us these amazing Halloween memories.

Slippery Rock Trunk or Treat

It was a beautiful autumn evening last Wednesday for the Slippery Rock Program Center's Annual Trunk or Treat. Staff had a great time decorating their vehicles, and individuals loved showing off their costumes, visiting each station for a treat. Everyone agreed it was a great time!
