IDD Program Leaders recently held a team building event in San Diego, CA. Program Leaders joined Senior Vice President for IDD Services Elise Tretola and Vice President of IDD Organizational Development Beth Caraccio for some fun away from the office. The team bowled, snacked, and just enjoyed each other’s company! It was a great time with a lot of laughs and a bit of competition.
A Program Instructor from Merakey AVS Slippery Rock Program Center decided to chase the winter blues away by taking her area to Coffaro’s Pizza for pizza and bowling. Everyone enjoyed having a couple slices and had a wonderful time knocking down pins.
Merakey AVS participants Clark, Heather, and Sean recently explored the Maridon Museum in Butler, PA to see the various pieces of art. The Maridon Museum is a hidden gem, featuring an art collection that Mary Hulton Phillips spent decades assembling. There are over 800 objects of art that Mrs. Phillips donated along with the building that houses them. Mrs. Phillips created a unique museum that connects the artistic traditions of the Far East with the eighteenth-century porcelain they inspired.
The Asian collectibles extend from the Neolithic period to 2002. The Meissen collection of porcelain figurines is among the largest private collections. Some pieces date back to the eighteenth century. The group really enjoyed seeing the exhibits and learning more about porcelain art.
