To celebrate the holiday season, the residents of Merakey AVS on Verree Road in Philadelphia made ugly sweaters. The creativity that went into making the sweaters was impressive! Everyone had fun with the activity.


Happy Birthday to Margaret and Katrina! In early December, Merakey AVS on Verree Road in Philadelphia celebrated the two women with a ‘Lady of Elegance Flapper’ themed birthday party. Katrina, 78 and Margaret, 55 enjoyed themselves while dancing, singing, crafting, and playing birthday games. The party ended with everyone singing a loud happy birthday song.


The Robinson Lions Club had a wonderful visit to Merakey AVS’s Pittsburgh Campus Stucco House. They brought personalized gifts for each person and made homemade ornaments for their tree.


Individuals and staff from the Adult Training Facility in Penn Hills, PA celebrated National Buffet Day on January 2 with a special trip to the Golden Corral where they enjoyed a delicious meal together.


Individuals and staff from Patricia Hillman Miller Campus continued their holiday tradition of a Light Up Night in the LHAS Sensory Garden. Families were invited to enjoy the celebration and walk through the magical lights.


Program Specialist Robert H. Reger Sr. and his family took Tyler to New York City for his very first visit. Tyler loved stopping at Rockefeller Center and seeing the famous Christmas tree


The staff at Patricia Hillman Miller Campus celebrated the holiday season with a festive party that brought everyone together to enjoy a delicious meal. The event was filled with savory food and sweet treats, offering a perfect blend of flavors to satisfy every taste. Colleagues shared laughter, conversation, and memorable moments. This holiday celebration was a delightful way to show appreciation for the hard work and dedication of the staff throughout the year.


The Edward J. Zapp Center’s Communication Club visited the Kennedy Center to spread holiday cheer. They sang songs using sign language, heard a Christmas poem read by Liz, and listened to a Hanukkah poem read by Megan.


Despite the rain, the holiday spirit was shining bright at Merakey AVS’s Pittsburgh Campus for their annual holiday parade. Staff from each department dressed up in their finest holiday attire and took to the street. Additionally, employees from the Transportation Department, Whitson's Culinary Group, Hospitality Staffing Solutions, Social Services, Facilities, Program, Residential, and Administration marched through campus handing out holiday toys. The staff shared lots of smiles and holiday wishes as the residents watched from their covered porches!


The guys from Robinson home visited Kraynak’s Lawn and Garden Center in Hermitage, PA and took a picture with their favorite tree. Go Steelers!


The ladies from New Castle Street enjoyed a delightful day exploring interactive exhibits and discovering the wonders of science at the Carnegie Science Center in Pittsburgh.


The Crafton Ingram Rotary Club upheld its tradition of bringing joy to the holidays by delivering gifts to individuals at the Patricia Hillman Miller Campus. Their efforts contributed to making the season special for so many. Thank you to our Rotary friends!


It was a holly jolly Christmas morning for the ladies at Patterson home at Merakey AVS!


Eugene and Keith from AVS waiver Wilshire program enjoyed time at the local farmers market by sitting and listening to some live music.
