Congratulations to Andrea Yoho, the recipient of the Merakey AVS Steven’s Fund Direct Support Professional of the Quarter Award for Fall 2025. With 35 years of dedicated service at Merakey AVS, Andrea currently serves as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) at the Pittsburgh Campus, where her compassion and commitment make a lasting impact every day. She was nominated by her colleagues Lynette Perez, Jessica Lowry, and Susan Amrhein, who each praised her unwavering dedication to the individuals she supports and to her fellow team members.
“The individuals that Andrea cares for each day absolutely love her and look for her smiling face as she enters the door,”
shared Susan.
“Andrea goes above and beyond for the clients and staff. She is very compassionate about her job and puts her heart and soul into caring for her clients,”
added Jessica.
Lynette highlighted Andrea’s leadership and teamwork, noting,
“Andrea's work ethic is impeccable in always putting the clients’ needs first. She is quick to take new staff under her wing, thoroughly explaining the importance of prioritizing the clients. Andrea understands that the only way to truly meet her clients’ needs is by working together as a team to build a strong foundation.”
Andrea accepted her award surrounded by fellow DSPs, Program Instructors, Nurses, and Supervisors – just a small representation of the many lives she has touched throughout her remarkable career. Senior Director Rhonda Thomson presented the award, emphasizing that one of Andrea’s greatest strengths is the pride she takes in delivering exceptional care. Andrea not only holds herself to the highest standard of integrity but also inspires those around her to do the same. Through her leadership and example, she elevates her team and enhances the lives of the residents at Pittsburgh Campus.
