Executive Director Lori Harvey and Program Director Amber Meyerl presented to over 100 people about Merakey’s Mobile Competency Restoration Team (MCRT) program during this week’s Criminal Justice Advisory Board (CJAB) Conference. More than 450 total participants attended the annual conference, which brings together justice practitioners, behavioral health professionals, and other stakeholders to learn about issues affecting communities across the Commonwealth.
MCRT is a psychoeducational program that works with individuals who are considered incompetent to stand trial. Using a variety of assessments and learning tools, plans are developed to address and restore competency deficiencies, such as understanding court proceedings, behavior expectations, and communicating with attorneys.
