Celebrating Foster Care Month

Foster Care Month was celebrated with a statewide virtual foster family and staff gathering on May 27. Gift bags had been delivered earlier in the month to families with supplies to make a special dinner. Some families joined the meeting while they were cooking, others while enjoying the meal, and some joined just to socialize. Thanks to funds from the Merakey Foundation and donations from local amusement parks, all the foster families will be enjoying a day out at DelGrosso’s, Lake Tobias, or Knoebel’s during the summer as a token of appreciation. Additional prizes included Hershey Park tickets for 11 families as well as two staff members. Foster families are valued every day, but we are especially grateful during the month of May to celebrate together.
