Community and School-Based Behavioral Health is wrapping up another fun-filled summer in our Therapeutic Summer Program (TSP) – and what an adventure it has been!

This year's theme transported individuals back to the Renaissance era, where they stepped into a life-sized castle and embarked on a summer filled with learning, growth, and imagination. Using an evidence-based curriculum, TSP delivered engaging therapeutic lessons designed to support consumer goals related to coping skills, compliance, social skills, and more.

Throughout the summer, participants earned treasure through our Dragon Hatchery token economy, caring for their very own pet dragons while practicing positive behaviors and working toward personal goals. Along the way, they explored a variety of themed crafts and activities that reinforced daily lessons, including creating marionettes, designing castles, and mapping out their community supports.

The fun didn't stop there! We were thrilled to offer several family-focused experiences and community partnerships, including:

  • A visit from a certified animal-assisted therapist and their therapy rabbits
  • A nature-based therapy forest-basking experience in Greenwood Furnace state park
  • A family movie night that welcomed more than 140 individuals and family members for an evening of connection and fun

We are so proud of our participants for their hard work, growth, and enthusiasm throughout the summer. Thank you to our dedicated staff, community partners, and families who helped make this year's TSP a truly magical experience.

As we close the castle gates on another successful summer, we celebrate the confidence built, skills gained, and memories made. Until next year, fare thee well!
