Merakey individuals Ben, Brad, and Tommy had a blast exploring the exhibits at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History in Pittsburgh.
Brandon, Floyd, Jim, and Tiny from the Merakey Robinson Smart Home had a special Valentine's Day lunch with decorations, cherry floats to drink, amazing cupcakes from a local bakery, and lots of candy. They had a wonderful time celebrating together and wish everyone a Happy Valentine’s Day!
Merakey AVS and Merakey IDD employees attended their second Engagement session focused on Bouncing Back/Bringing Passion Back to Our Work. The Laughter Workshop: Communication, Compassion & Self-Care presented by Julie Ann Sullivan, had everyone out of their seats, laughing, clapping, and letting go of their daily stresses. Many people shared that the workshop taught them to become a better communicator and listener, how to deal with tough situations, and the importance of self-care.
Julie Ann showed attendees how to laugh more, be compassionate and to be more positive in their everyday lives. Many shared that they’ll be taking these tools back to their co-workers and will begin handling situations differently. The overall vibe of the day was exciting and positive. One employee commented “I appreciate being asked to attend the seminar. I feel like Merakey is making an investment in me as a person and employee.”
The Engagement series was created to bring frontline staff together to share the reasons why they chose their profession, learn new strategies, stay engaged and focus on their well-being. We look forward to our next session in March.
