Jeffrey from the IDD Residential Program in Dauphin County, PA spent a day at the Pennsylvania Farm Show. He tried a famous Farm Show milkshake and saw a bunch of animals, including a baby calf stand for the first time. He’s already making plans to go back next year.
The Moon Area High School athletic teams recognized the Moon Miracle Baseball League players from Merakey AVS. At halftime during their game, the cheerleaders lined up and celebrated the league, much like a high school celebrates seniors for “senior night.” The energy in the room was something new and exciting for all. Each person was called out by name and received a certificate and photobook from Merakey AVS.
Afterwards, the school invited everyone from the Miracle League Baseball team to stay and watch the game courtside and experience another kind of ball game, basketball! Merakey AVS now has some new basketball fans! Trudy commented, “Did you see that guy try to dunk it?! He missed!” The game was a “nail biter” with Moon trailing by 3 points and only 45 seconds left. Moon came from behind to win the game by 2 points. It was amazing! We are grateful to be part of that evening and for the warm welcome from Moon Area School District throughout the year!
