On May 3, Blueheart, a Merakey CLA resident, spent the day at Pinchot State Park in a celebration of her late grandfather. Blueheart had wanted to plant a tree at a place where her grandparents spent 20+ years overseeing the campgrounds there. Blueheart has fond memories of spending time there through the years with her family and asked her grandmother if they could plant a memorial tree. Although Blueheart could not make the actual tree planting, the family and managers of her home were able to gather and have a special day to honor her grandfather. It was such a touching and loving moment for Blueheart and her grandma. Everyone was happy that we were able to make this day happen for Blueheart.
