Happy Retirement, Maureen

Please join us in congratulating Director Maureen Schoener on her retirement from Merakey!

The northeast region celebrated the retirement of Director, Maureen Schoener, on January 14. Maureen has been with Merakey for three and a half years but has over 25 years of experience working in IDD services and in teaching. She now has the opportunity to retire early and enjoy her family. Maureen received many wonderful gifts, ate a nice brunch, and spent time with the friends she got to know here at Merakey. During her time as Director, she cultivated a lot of new business in the Lehigh and Northampton areas. Best wishes, Maureen, and thank you so much for all of your support and efforts at Merakey. Your service to the staff and individuals is greatly appreciated and the door is always open if you ever want to come back. We love you!

Thank You to the Local VFW

The Therapeutic Family Care/Foster Care Plus (TFC/FCP) programs in DuBois, PA received a surprising donation from the local Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 813. Members of the VFW Post 813 donated almost 30 bookbags to the DuBois and Canal Ways TFC/FCP Program in Pennsylvania. Each bookbag was filled with blankets, journals, coloring books, colored pencils, hair brushes, and other items. There was also a personal note in each bag from the VFW Post 813. Thank you to the VFW Post 813 for your generosity and kindness.
