PANTRY FOR PRIDE

How we began?

Using their own money, teachers and other staff at the Merakey Education and Autism Centers have been supplementing students’ breakfasts and lunches when they came to school without the proper nourishment. It was decided to start this program so that students have a fair opportunity to learn and be productive throughout the day.

Who do we help?

The Merakey Education and Autism Centers serve over 500 students with autism and special needs. Each student requires an individual program suited specifically for that child's needs. If a child comes to school hungry, they cannot retain information and a teacher’s job becomes impossible.

FOSTER C.A.R.E. PACKS PROGRAM

Foster C.A.R.E. Packs

What is this Program?

The Merakey Foster C.A.R.E. Packs program is supported in part by the Merakey Foundation. Foster C.A.R.E. Packs was created to provide Comfort And Resource Essentials (C.A.R.E.) to our kids in foster care. The needs of our kids are as unique as their personalities. Sometimes they need sports equipment, clothes, or school supplies. Sometimes a child just wants to select their own bag, so they can have something of their own. The Foster C.A.R.E. Packs program assists in obtaining these essentials for our kids.
