Payroll Withholding: Merakey employees may have gifts deducted from their paycheck each month by enrolling in the STAR Campaign.
Stock: Gifts of marketable stocks, bonds, or mutual fund shares that have appreciated (increased in value) can have an immediate impact on the Merakey programs you wish to support.

Q. How do I participate in a matching gift program? A. Many employers will match the charitable gifts of employees, thereby doubling or tripling the value of their gifts. Some employers even match the gifts of retirees and/or spouses.
To find out if your company participates in such a program, ask your HR department if your company has a matching gift program.
To make a match, ask your company's matching gift officer (usually in the human resources or community relations department) for a matching gift form. Then, send it along with your gift to the Merakey Foundation.
Q. I'm not comfortable giving online. Is it really safe? A. The Merakey Foundation uses industry-standard SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encryption to protect the confidentiality of your personal information. The Foundation does not retain credit card information on file.
Q. Is my gift tax deductible? A. Yes, to the extent allowable by law. You may be able to claim your gift as an itemized deduction on your tax return. The Merakey Foundation is a nonprofit Sec. 501(c)(3) organization.
Q. Will I get a receipt for tax purposes? A. Yes, soon after your gift is received, you will receive a thank you letter which includes the amount of your gift. You may use this letter as a receipt for IRS purposes. If you donate online, you will also receive a confirmation of your gift via e-mail.
