David Malloy, director of mobile services at Merakey Parkside Recovery in Philadelphia, was invited to speak at a public hearing held on August 11 by The Committee on Public Health and Human Services of the Council of the City of Philadelphia. The hearing was held to discuss the City of Philadelphia’s efforts, as coordinated by the Managing Director’s Office and Human Services Departments, to prevent and treat abuse, addiction, and disease related to the use of opioids.
David highlighted the critical work that Merakey Parkside Recovery is doing to help individuals receive treatment and to start their journeys toward recovery. Despite the challenges faced when working with individuals who are homeless and addicted to various substances, David shared with committee members the positive impact that our partnerships with Philadelphia Police Department and Septa are having in the communities served.
Thank you, David and your entire team, for putting your heart and soul into everything you do every day!
