On Friday, October 1, Merakey’s President and Chief Operating Officer Ted Dallas, and Senior Executive Director of Addiction Services, Josh Vigderman will be part of a panel discussion at the Philadelphia B.PHL Innovation Fest. Ted and Josh will be joined by Leslie Richards, General Manager, SEPTA and Thomas J. Nestel III, Chief of Transit Police for SEPTA to discuss how Merakey Parkside Recovery and the SEPTA police force are partnering to help individuals facing housing insecurity and other issues to gain access to addiction recovery and mental health services, community resources and other basic necessities.
In this session, the panel will discuss how they developed the program, what they’ve learned from each other through their work in the community, and how they expect their partnership to evolve in the future. The session, “Supporting Vulnerable Populations & Building Stronger Communities: An Exploration of Law Enforcement & Mental Health Partnerships,” will take place on Friday, October 1 at 2:15PM (EST).
The B.PHL Innovation Fest is an annual three-day event focused on innovation and collaboration in Philadelphia. The keynote speakers at this year’s event include Don Lemon, Emmy Award-winning journalist and host of CNN's Don Lemon Tonight, and Wendell Holland, Host of HGTV's Hot Mess House and winner of Survivor: Ghost Island.
