Individuals from Merakey AVS celebrated Rosh Hashanah earlier this week virtually with Jewish Residential Services and The Friendship Circle of Pittsburgh. Everyone received a bag with a craft and activity as part of the celebration, while spending time together on Zoom.

This year, the Jewish High Holy Day of Rosh Hashanah, or Jewish New Year, was celebrated on September 6-8, and Yom Kippur, or Day of Atonement, will be observed starting at sundown on September 15 and ending at sundown on September 16. The holidays provide a perfect time for reflection, and a wonderful opportunity for people from different faiths and backgrounds to come together to learn from and care for each other.
