David, a young man in one of Merakey’s homes in Westmoreland County, PA, recently asked to help find Direct Support Professionals to support his friends, whose house was down staff members. David and his staff came up with a plan to hit the streets to recruit. With a heart of gold and love for his friends, David was officially branded as the “ambassador for recruiting.” On his first outing with staff, David hung flyers on bulletin boards at grocery stores, gas stations, and other stores in the community. He also went to Seton Hill University to hand out flyers to students and other passersby. David showed no signs of shyness and asked everyone that crossed his path if they would like to work at Merakey with him and his friends! Hopefully, David’s efforts will have a positive impact and additional staff will be hired.

After all, who can say “no” to a request from David?
